The only Elden Ring expansion we’ll get, Shadow of the Erdtree, was released last week and thousands of Tarnished have traveled to the shadow realm to take on dozens of up-to-date enemies, bosses, and more. Now, just a few days later, developer From Software has released a up-to-date patch for the game that should make Shadow of the Erdtree a bit easier.
Calibration Update 1.12.2, now available, aims to scale the attack and damage negation dealt to players with each Blessing of the Shadowlands upgrade. Here’s what’s changed:
- Increased the attack and damage negation for the first half of Blessing’s maximum upgrade count, and the second half will now be more gradual.
- The attack and damage negation provided by the Blessing final upgrade level has been slightly increased.
This patch should apply automatically like any other Elden Ring update, but if it doesn’t – the calibration version listed in the bottom right corner is “1.12.2”, if it is – select “LOGIN” to apply the latest version of the game .
The only other thing is update contains a message from From Software regarding a confirmed bug where ray tracing settings in Shadow of the Erdtree are automatically enabled (if you have previously loaded save data from previous versions of the game), causing frame rate issues for some players. If you are experiencing issues like this, please check if you have ray tracing enabled in your game’s system graphics settings.
This update follows the previous one that hit the game last week, which introduced up-to-date hairstyles, inventory features, balance changes, and many other changes to Elden Ring ahead of the launch of Shadow of the Erdtree.
