Despite this being the most anticipated reveal on Game Awards 2025there’s a good chance you don’t know the previous games Divinity: Original Sin 3. However, it looks like RPG fans may soon get the chance to experience the groundbreaking sequel that launched the series and its creator, Studio Larian. The same Larian Studios that created one of the current masterpieces of the genre, Baldur’s Gate 3.
Divinity: Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition has been floating around in the air for some time now. We assumed that given the success of BG3, Larian would quickly release an improved version of its previous game, hoping to lead its legion of newly acquired fans towards Larian’s own original IP, which debuted in 2002.
After appearing on the ratings board (which is usually a good sign that a game is about to release), Divinity: Original Sin 2 Definitive fell off the radar, but now it has reappeared. Before the large reveal at The Game Awards, A post from PlayStation Game Size appeared on social mediaconfirming the game’s existence on PS5.
Considering this information comes from a fairly reliable source when it comes to PlayStation Store data leaks, hopefully we can expect an official announcement from Larian Studios in the coming days.
In our review of Divinity: Original Sin 2, we gave the game a resounding 9/10, stating that it is “the best CRPG in decades, with a compelling story that’s engaging even though it takes its time and is sometimes hard as a pin. It’s the little adventures that shape the world, and so many of them can be missed at first glance because you don’t have the right skills or haven’t passed the persuasion test. Huge scope and tons of features, including GM Mode, that easily allows for a surprising amount of customization, Divinity: Original Sin 2 is a bumper pack.”
