Survival ’em up combo Pacific Drive has received a summer update that adds a photo mode, up-to-date garage machine upgrades, a up-to-date side-dodging maneuver for the car, and a paid makeup add-on. It’s the first of a up-to-date post-launch update roadmap to come.
Is the exploit of the word “road map” here a play on words?
Photo mode can now be accessed from the pause menu, and lets you play around with depth of field, focus control, and exposure time, as well as applying visual filters and changing weather conditions and time of day. This is standard for photo modes now, but very welcome in a game world like the murky forests of Pacific Drive.
Your up-to-date car ability is the Juke Jet, which literally looks like a miniature jet engine that you can stick to either side of your car. It allows you to horizontally steer your car left or right, allowing you to avoid obstacles that emerge from the fog.
Finally, in a free update, there are two up-to-date nodes to unlock via the Fabrication Station in the garage upgrade tree. These are the Smart Matter Deconstructor, which recycles all the junk you collect but don’t want, and the Vargas Auto-Pac-Vac, which will automatically “assemble materials in your Transfer Boot.”
You can read about up-to-date paid DLC on Steam. Cosmetics don’t really interest me, but selling cosmetics is what funds the game’s free updates after launch. And there’s more to come: they plan to add up-to-date difficulty modes, customization settings, and free cosmetics this fall, and another, as of yet “closed” update is planned for winter.
