New Resident Evil game confirmed, directed by Resi 7 director

Unfortunately, we didn’t get any more information. The quick and effortless assumption is that it will be Resident Evil 9, or whatever the creators decide to call it. But Nakanishi refrains from saying so outright. Given the unconfirmed rumors that both Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil – Code: Veronica are getting remakes, I feel a bit uneasy about drawing conclusions about exactly who Resi the heavy-handed director will be entrusting with overseeing. It’s likely that it’s issue 9, which has had its own leaks and is reportedly called Resident Evil 9: Revenant Shadows. But there is still no official confirmation.

Elsewhere in Capcom Next BroadcastNakanishi recalled Resident Evil 7’s shift away from action towards horror.

If Nakanishi is in charge of Resident Evil 9, I hope he continues to push the team back into the obscure world of horror. Resident Evil Village was intriguing, but I found it to be much more of a shooter than I expected, especially after the lame domesticity of the seventh installment. On the other hand, I like leisurely, creepy horror. I’d be cheerful if a Resi game came out with, say, three monsters. As long as it was obscure and tense.

Resi fans committed to the PC who crave a classic recently saw some good news, as the original 1996 Resident Evil is available to download on PC for the first time. And the ancient Resi 2 and 3 are coming soon, according to replacement pages this GOG. However, there is no information about Resident Evil – Code: Veronica, which has the honor of being the only Resident Evil game with my grandmother’s name in the title.
