Once again, the gacha community is on fire due to minor tweaks made to the game. This time for a slight reason Zenless Ground Zero censorship an update that now made some players feel insecure when they couldn’t directly zoom in on certain body parts.
In Zenless Zone Zero update 1.4, finally introducing the long-awaited Miyabi, Proxies can also change the form they will operate to walk around New Eridu. Previously you could walk around as Wise, Belle, Burnice, Caesar, Yanagi and Lighter – but now the entire cast is available.
So what’s the deal? Well, when the update was released, this is what happened the characters became hidden as you zoomed in on the camera towards their back. Why would you do such a thing? Who knows. I’m sure it has nothing to do with people craving the round butt look of most Zenless Zone Zero characters.
What an outrage! Hoyoverse has now alleviated this, citing an issue where “the Agent’s fade effect appeared washed out when viewed from a certain angle, not displaying correctly”, so the character now only appears half-transparent instead of being completely hidden. We also received 300 polychromes for the inconvenience alone.
This could also be due to larger character models and not just people trying to upskirt Burnice. Ben, the walking, talking teddy bear from ZZZ, has a giant model. He it doesn’t even fit in the Random Play storeand that’s why we never see him there. The developers mentioned this during the livestream, and it may be the reason for the transparency, as Ben would block the entire screen if he were fully perceptible – if you zoom in on his, er, lower back.
Personally, I’m not a fan of zooming in on a character’s cheeks, but if you want to do that, go ahead – ZZZ censorship hasn’t changed much. Apologies to Jane Doe for the screenshots above, but I had to illustrate this point.
