At first glance, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom looks like a straight successor to 2019. Link’s Awakening remake with a top-down view and a toy aesthetic, but there’s a significant twist that sets it apart from this and other games in the series: this time, you play as Zelda.
The long-awaited handling change introduces Echoes, which lets Zelda operate her Tri Rod to create duplicates of objects and enemies she discovers, using them to solve puzzles and combat, similar to the more imaginative, emergent action in Breath of the Wild AND Tears of the Kingdom.
