‘You’re too good for camouflage’ – Battlefield 6 players can’t assist but make fun of ‘Absurd’ orange scout skin

Battlefield 6 gives fans the most cinematic FPS action they’ve seen in years, but one of the hard-to-find Recon skins has sent the community into a frenzy.

Die-hard fans of military shooters like Call of Duty and Battlefield, yes he had spent the last few years arguing about what place, if any, stupid skins have in their favorite video games. Although EA and Battlefield Studios’ latest project has largely avoided conflict with its commitment to a more grounded approach to cosmeticshe did not manage to escape the wreck completely unscathed.

The discussion about one questionable launch skin started when Reddit user BOSS_Clan_Intl shared a photo what appears to be a Scout-class Dead Eye skin. This is an outfit designed for a sniper-heavy class that will likely require dozens, if not hundreds, of hours of play, requiring players to not only complete all three standard Scout Task challenges, but also several Scout Specialist challenges.

Battlefield 6 players know this very well how demanding some of the many challenges can bewhich makes Dead Eye an especially challenging drop for anyone looking to collect every infantry skin. The main problem, however, is that, at least in the image shared here, Dead Sight makes you look a bit like a traffic cone.

On one of the sunnier maps in Battlefield 6 (of which there are many), the Scout skin practically glows with a mix of orange and black that is more reminiscent of Black Ops than Battlefield. When almost every other skin sticks to muted tones and time-honored military camouflage, Dead Sight sticks out like a sore thumb. Worse still, the skin is aimed at scout players, abandoning something more practical like a ghillie suit in favor of an outfit that an enemy can point out as easily as a distant flare.

Viewing Dead Sight in the Battlefield 6 class skin gallery shows that the suit is more brown than orange. The exact environment in which the above photo was captured remains unclear, but on a dazzling map with these settings, it’s stiff to ignore the contrast with the rest of the costumes.

Of course, one dazzling Battlefield skin is far from it superhero, fameAND science fiction skins that have divided Call of Duty fans, but that doesn’t mean Battlefield players aren’t taking the opportunity to make fun of the Dead Sight skin.

“If you master this class, you’re too good for camouflage” – one The Reddit user joked. “It’s not for stealth, it’s an open challenge to the lobby,” one the person added. “I have to admit, for a master skin for the ‘stealth’ class, this is ridiculous lmao” – another he was joking.

Under the right circumstances, Dead Sight may be the most colorful skin – but that doesn’t mean it’s the only one that catches the eye. Ahead of Battlefield 6’s release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series special promotion with gaming technology company Razer. There is also a Get Loud skin that replaces the green markings with orange ones on the legs and mask.

Dead Sight’s time in the sun has sparked laughter among the Battlefield 6 community, but not everyone thinks the outfit is anything to joke about. Some people commented on the original post, saying that the skin looks “terrible”, while others swear they won’t operate it even after unlocking it. There are also those who fear that EA and BF Studios will introduce more and more stupid skins as post-launch development progresses.

Meanwhile, the creators suggest that they do not plan to change course anytime soon. While interview with IGN in September, Ripple Effect technical director Christian Buhl and senior console combat designer Matthew Nickerson addressed concerns that silly skins could make their way into Battlefield 6. At the time, they confirmed that the team was “really happy with where we’re at.”

Battlefield 6 is just a few days away from the start of Season 1. In the meantime, you can read on traffic debate between “zoomers” and “battledads”. You can also find out why we think the latest installment of the series has brought absolute cinema back to multiplayer.
