You can also burn fascist propaganda in Indiana Jones and the Big Circle!

I didn’t need another reason to love Indiana Jones and the Great Circlebut an unexpected feature quickly cemented it as one of my favorite games of 2024. As you begin your adventure, you’ll likely notice many fascist propaganda posters littering the towns and villages you visit. Although you can’t get rid of these sores at first, once you get a lighter, you can burn them off! The game doesn’t advertise this particular feature, but I’m delighted that the developers added this extra bit of immersion to an already detailed game.

You’ll unlock the lighter naturally along your journey, as it’s required to solve some of the puzzles in the game’s various crypts and tombs. The tool allows you to delicate torches, fuses, fuel barrels, and apparently many other things as well. If you haven’t grabbed a lighter yet, you can get one by visiting a vendor in the Gizeh market.

As if I needed any extra incentive to burn posters of Benito Mussolini in the Vatican, each poster you destroy gives you a compact allocation of Adventure Points to spend on constant upgrades. One word of caution, however: just like in real life, burning propaganda posters will quickly arouse the ire of all the puppets in the immediate vicinity, so be ready to flee or fight as soon as you finish your illegal burning.
