Yes, you heard right: Ciri does sound different in the first trailer of The Witcher 4, but CD Projekt Red did not reveal why she was transformed

Some of you may have noticed that Ciri sounds slightly different in the first trailer of The Witcher 4 and, as it turns out, this is due to the transformation of her cast.

Earlier this week at The Game Awards, CD Projekt Red gave a first look at what The Witcher 4 might look like with a cinematic trailer, and more importantly, revealed that yes, Ciri is the recent heroine of the series, as the developers said was a “natural choice.” It was a pretty good trailer, though considering production literally only started last month, it’s pretty clear that it was just a louder version of CD Projekt Red saying “yeah, we’re working on it and about that’s what it will be. ” One thing you may have noticed is that Ciri sounds slightly different, and some fans are speculating that the character has been recast. As it turns out, yes, and CD Projekt has provided commentary on the change Player.

According to the developer, “Ciara Berkeley has been cast as Ciri in The Witcher IV’s theatrical trailer.” The statement continued: “Ciara is a talented actress who has impressed us with her enthusiasm and acting skills, and in this trailer we believe she has truly brought Ciri to life in a way that is true to the character and exciting for fans of the series.” It should be noted that CD Projekt later clarified that Berkeley would also be voicing Ciri in the game and not just in the trailer, taking over the role from Jo Wyatt.

No reason was given as to why Wyatt was recast, so my apologies to those of you who will miss her, but Berkeley sounds pretty good considering what we hear about her at least in the trailer. Now the long wait for the whole thing begins!
