Yacht Club Games organized their own Presentation in a direct style today, primarily to commemorate Shovel Knight’s 10th anniversary. As such, the event featured various Shovel Knight-related announcements, including the reveal of a brand novel game.

This novel Shovel Knight game is untitled and has not been shown, but Yacht Club has confirmed that it is in development. It also suggested that various clues to the nature of this title could be found in other Shovel Knight games such as Shovel Knight Dig, Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon, and Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove.

The studio also states: “Our goal is to create a game that not only honors Shovel Knight’s legacy, but also pioneers groundbreaking, novel gameplay mechanics. This isn’t just another sequel – it’s a bold novel adventure that will take Shovel Knight to a whole novel dimension of gaming.”

We’ll have to wait to see what this novel game is, but the studio has revealed an enhanced version of the original game called Shovel Knight: Shovel of Hope DX. It’s essentially the definitive edition of the 2014 indie classic, featuring 20 novel playable characters, scrolling functionality, save states, online multiplayer, cheats, and more. Shovel Knight: Shovel of Hope DX has no release window or announced platforms. In terms of smaller updates, Yacht Club announced free DLC for Shovel Knight Dig (the final content pack) and Pocket Dungeon.

Yacht Club also released an update for Mina the Hollower, its upcoming action-adventure game. The novel trailer includes a montage of gameplay, and Yacht Club says the project is “close to finalizing pre-release content across all levels.” He plans to spend the next few months polishing and refining the gameplay. Yacht Club reveals that the game has grown more than expected since its 2022 launch; now includes an “expansive” world and RPG elements. The studio says it expects a massive gameplay reveal in the near future.
