The Xbox 360 Digital Store will be closing later this month on July 26. Amid a wave of price cuts and other end-of-life updates, nostalgic fans can relive the console’s earliest days via a recent energetic background inspired by the venerable “Blades” interface.
For those who are too newborn to remember or haven’t had an Xbox 360 in many years, the Blades interface was the console’s first dashboard design. It was the first thing gamers saw from the console’s launch in 2005 until it was updated to a completely different interface in 2008. It was buttery polished to navigate, and some diehard fans still consider it the best user interface on an Xbox console.
Although it is less detailed and you can’t flip the blades of this energetic background and hear it satisfying “buzz” soundnice to see microsoft appreciate the 360 so much. here’s how to make blades as a background for xbox:
- Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.
- Go to Profile & system > Settings > General > Personalization > My Background > Dynamic Backgrounds.
- Select Xbox 360 Blades in the Featured or Xbox Dynamic Backgrounds section
- Select the desired background theme using the A button.
