Remember four-star rares and the fact that they exist? Well, Kuro Games finally did it, showing off The bubbling of windy waves as an upcoming character. Her element and weapon are currently unknown, but her rarity is still a welcome shock to us low-budget team builders.
Although Wuthering Waves may not have had many four stars since launch – including three newly added ones stainmeaning it has had more than Star Rail recently. Sure, before Buling the last one released before version 2.0, but now it’s back in the lead anyway. However, both pale in comparison to Genshin Impact’s fairly consistent four-star releases and even the four Zenless Zone Zero options that have joined the lineup since the game’s debut.
In the entire Amphoreus update from Star Rail, not a single four-star character was released. We are currently at version 3.6, approaching 3.7, which gives us 12 different banners. Our most recent four-star rating was Moze version 2.5 from HSR. Since then, there have been one, two, or even three novel five-star ratings every patch.
There were also 4-star options available in the 2.0 updates: March 7 Hunt’s Path, Misha, and Gallager, so what the hell happened? Where did they go? Has Hoyoverse simply forgotten that lower rarity characters are an option, or do they just give us characters we can guarantee (and pay for) on banners?
We all know the pain of pulling specifically for four-stars – I was a victim of this myself this week, trying to get my hands on even two Komano Manato ZZZs, getting six Pipers, Anton and Anby instead – but people still buy and employ them. Gaming Genshin Impact is one of my top DPS characters, and HSR Gallagher is a mainstay on my teams, healing my Luocha.
We hope that the developer will soon provide us with more lower rarity Honkai Star Rail characters, although judging by subsequent Honkai Star Rail banners, this won’t happen anytime soon.
