Last month, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Developer Leenzee Games promised fans that a number of problems with performance and optimization by harassing the game from the release would be immediately arranged. Now patch 1.5 seems to solve many of these problems, but with strange costs: it also makes wide changes in many enemies of the game, dialogue and stories that have even more unhappy fans.
If you look at Notes on the patch for 1.5Initially, they seem quite rude. There are several corrections of errors and many good improvements, such as the SPED-up healing animation and the ability to avoid canceling recovery animations. There is also “optimization” that notes from the patch say that he is preparing to revive players closer to bosses to whom they died, which will be another welcome change when he lands.
But hidden in long notes for patching are a few peculiarities:
Dialog boxes have been added for some NPCs to make some plots. In the future, we will optimize exhaustion animations to improve the plot performance.
The fraction error in chapter 4 was fixed, corrected the level of the level and increased the effect of BVB efficiency.
“Wuchang” was added some voice to complete the story, and added a few NPC dialogues.
So what’s all about? As documented on Twitter/X by Lance McDonald, the update made significant changes in some NPCs, bosses and enemies to do so so that they would not die canonically.
It looks like the latest Wuchang update, which makes avoiding much easier and healing faster, unfortunately also a bit censor the game history. Historically a significant figure does not die, but he escapes from happily and you can no longer kill the innocent enemies of farmers.

Before the patch you could aim and kill some of the human NPCs you encountered during the game. These characters were passive, otherwise they did not attack you, and did not attack you, but you will murder them, influenced the mechanics of your character’s “madness” in a way that created a legally engaging game. Now this is no longer true – NPCs are unjustified and unusual, effectively removing the ability to interact with the mechanics of madness in this particular way.
In addition, this change also significantly affects the fourth chapter of the game, which was previously quite messy and challenging to manage because of many human enemies trying to attack you. Now a vast part of these enemies is not an enemy at all, transforming something that once was a very challenging chapter into a little cake.
Oh, wow, the whole chapter 4 is now incredibly straightforward, because 50% of enemies are not for the player now and they cannot be attacked during the explosion of the rebellion. What a mess.

In addition, many challenging bosses do not “die” when you defeat them. Instead, they just stand there, “exhausted” or run away to live happily and happily, or demand an intensive battle that just took place, was only a “process”.
One of the most challenging and hardest boss fights ends now when the boss does not die, but instead he said: “It was only a test! And actually the path you are on is good! Hahaha!” Saint Wow https://t.co/syyfhlukxm

While the first two problems directly affect the gameplay, boss changes are round by players for how they affect the history of the game. Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is strongly focused on the themes of death and the possibility of accepting the death of a loved one or a period in life. Many enemies in fallen feathers actively try to thwart death or extend something that will inevitably end. So in several of these cases they do not completely die at all in the face of the message of the game about the inevitability of death.
Until now, the developer Leenzee Games did not explain why these changes were made, nor did they make any statement except patch notes (Ign contacted the commentary). However, many players rightly indicate that the affected characters seem to have something in common: everyone is somehow related to the Ming dynasty.
Fallen Feathers is a historical fiction and takes place in 1600 China at the end of the Ming dynasty, the last dynasty ruled by the Chinese Han before taking over Qing. Although the history of the game originally used the end of the Ming dynasty to effectively convey their message about death and transition, now none of the characters of Ming will die Or Go on, making the premise ineffective. As a result, a number of negative reviews of Steam and posts on various social platforms accuse Leenzee of self -esteem, allegedly due to feedback from the segment of Chinese players nervous because of treating Mingg by the game.
“Improving the performance of the game is friendly,” we read one “unnecessary” Steam review of August 13 by a person with 58 hours in the game. “But this must be the first time I heard about the story of the story. As far as I know. Changing the story made the story completely different, and even made the motivation of some characters.
Interestingly, Subreddit R/Wuchanggame seems almost completely devoid of criticism of patch, but Users of other subreddits If claiming that moderators of this subreddit I removed all posts that are critical of these changes.
Ign reviewed the version of Wuchang: Fallen Feathers during the premiere and gave it 8/10, calling it “another great slile to add to a constantly growing pile, with an excellent fight, a great project, an amazing skill tree and terrifying bosses.” So if you can find a way to play in the pre -catcher, it seems to be a way for now.
