This year is the 10thvol anniversary of the album release Game Until Dawnand I’m thrilled to share with you the world premiere trailer for Until Dawn, which will hit theaters.
PlayStation Productions and Sony Pictures worked closely with director/producer David F. Sandberg (Annabelle: Creation, Lights Out) and writer/producer Gary Dauberman (It, Annabelle, The Nun) to bring Until Dawn to the massive screen. In making this change, we wanted to honor the spirit of Until Dawn – particularly the idea of decisions with branching paths and deadly consequences – while adapting it in a way that maximizes both entertainment and horror for moviegoers.
Although the film takes place in the same world as the game, it was essential to us that the film was not just a repetition. Instead, the film will feature up-to-date characters in a up-to-date, original story. If you’ve played this game, you know that not everything is what it seems. In the case of the film, we wanted the audience to remain in suspense until the very end. We can’t wait for fans to discover how the events of the film connect to Until Dawn.
Peter Stormare, whom you know in the game as Dr. Hill, is one of those key connecting links. The film will delve into his character’s involvement in the events of the game, raising questions for fans to answer. Considering Peter’s role in both projects, it’s fitting that he presented the first trailer for Until Dawn to the world:
“I’ve been lucky enough to be a part of Until Dawn since the original, amazing, incredibly scary game, and that’s why I’m so excited to be a part of this film, because the whole thing is a love letter to horror and completely honors the spirit of the game. The film will be full of up-to-date characters and victims in a completely up-to-date story full of twists and turns. Whether you’re a longtime fan or discovering the game for the first time, prepare for Until Dawn like you’ve never seen before.
– Peter Stormare
For now, enjoy the world premiere trailer and keep checking back as there will be plenty of up-to-date updates between now and Until Dawn when it hits theaters later this year.
