Last week, it was revealed that some of the 50 RTX series cards sent with the missing ROPS, suppressing the performance from their update worth $ 2,000. Now even computer builders provide potential buyers that this novel problem does not affect their preliminary platforms.
As noted by VideoCardz, PC Builder, CyberpowerPC had a slight reservation at the bottom of the GPU section in its gaming computers, saying:
“CyberpowerPC will provide all systems equipped with GeForce RTX 5090, 5080 and 5070 Ti graphics cards have the right number of oil before shipping.”
While Videocardz got a screenshot of this note from CyberpowerPC, I looked at A link was attached And he noticed that this waiver had disappeared. We do not have official information about why this reservation has been added, and then removed, but it may have something to do with the reports about its inclusion. We got to CyberpowerPC for a comment.
If you are wondering what ROPs are at all, these are specialized units in the graphics processor that read and write information about pixels and are used for types of anti -aliasing. The RTX 5090 is to have 176 ROP, but, as noted by some users and sent to Techpowerup, some applications have shown that their GPU was only 168. This causes loss of performance.
With one missing ROP partition, says Nvidia: “The average impact of graphic performance is 4%, without affecting AI and computing loads.”
Nvidia also claims that this problem has reached less than 0.5% of its cards. Maingear, another computer builder, noticed this problem, although its general director does not report any RTX 50 graphic processors with missing ROPS in his construction plants. This suggests that NVIDIA claims have a minimum problem affecting the petite party as right.
It seems likely that many computer builders will check these cards when they come to avoid a potential customer sending the whole set due to a problem with the graphic processor. Considering that producers replace the GPU with missing ROPs, and the anomaly that caused the problem has been established, the missing ROPs will become an even more niche problem over time and perhaps not worth determining any sale.
