How to complete the Gift of Gab debates in Where Winds Meet
Gift of the Gab debates in Where Winds Meet are a bit like the indie card game Slay the Spire. You have to exploit your circumscribed amount of energy to play cards from your hand Which either damage your opponent or shield yourself from harm.
At the beginning of the match, you must choose a rhetorical framework:
- Bluster defeats Taunt
- Provocation trumps denial
- Repulse defeats Filibuster
- And Filibuster defeats Bluster
Once you have chosen the best approach, you enter the match. In in the lower right corner is the amount of energy you have available, which will regenerate in real time.
When drawing cards, play those that you have enough energy to defend against your opponent’s spikes or counter with your own.
Periodically throughout the game Gabby’s Gift, when your opponent’s resolve wanes, you will have the chance to either perform a robust counter or a powerful attack by pressing L2 or R2 when prompted. Pressing here allows you to deal ponderous damage while also inflicting an additional effect on it.
When your opponent’s health bar drops to 0, you have convinced him of your skills and won the debate!
