Where to find the O Mother gesture in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree

“Oh Mother” this is one of five added gestures Ring of Fire In Shadow of Erdtree DLC and is crucial to accessing one part of the Shadowlands map, the Hinterland. You will need access to northwestern Scadu Altus to complete Count Ymir’s questline, so the “Oh Mother” gesture is of the utmost importance.

Location of the O Mother gesture in the Elden Ring DLC

To learn the O Mother gesture, you need access to Bonny Village, which lies west of Scad Altus and southwest of the Moorth Ruins. The O Mother gesture is located directly north of the Bonny Village map icon, at the far northern end of the village.

Once you reach Bonny Village, head east and apply the Torrent to double jump over the diminutive gorge that cuts through the village. Then drive north until you see a lone tree at the northern end of the village.

Just below this tree is a headless statue. Interact with it and you will receive the O Mother gesture.

How to get to Bonny Village in Elden Ring

Bonny Village is accessed via an underground tunnel that can be reached from Moorth Ruins. The hole in the ground to the east of the Moorth Ruins Site of Grace is the entry point, but be careful which way you enter the underground area.

The best and safest way to reach the dungeon is from the ledge in the Moorth Ruins, as seen below.

From here, traveling through the basement of the Moorth Ruins to Bonny Village is quite uncomplicated. You’ll encounter some Shadow Undead and Candelabra Mages, and along the way you can pick up the Shattered Stone talisman and the Golden Arches spell.

You’ll know when you’ve found Bonny Village when you reach the rope ladder seen below.

Where to apply the O Mother gesture

To gain access Hinterland and Ruin Map (2nd) areayou will have to go through the Shadow Keep. From Shadowkeep, Backgate, Place of Mercy, go north where you’ll see a side passage to the east that leads to a headless statue of Marika. At this altar you will need to apply the “O Mother” gesture to open a secret passage leading to a place of grace inland.

From there you’ll face a pair of Tree Guardians, you’ll have access to the Shaman Village, and Fingerstone Hill, where the Dheo Finger Ruins are located.
