Where to find NES006 in Destiny 2

NES006 is this Assimilated Torch Hammerweapons used by the Vex Minotaurs, which can be found anywhere Echoes of the battlefields from this episode.
I found mine in “Core” Battleground, the finale of the series of three. It’s almost at the very end of the mission, just before you drop down to face the boss. When you get to the raid flag, turn left and you’ll find a giant Vex Radiolaria geyser behind some glass. You’ll find the NES006, Assimilated Torch Hammer, tucked away in the corner.
While Battleground matchmaking is random — meaning you can’t just pick a “Core” — you can drop out and matchmake again until you finally find the one you’re looking for. I’d advise against this unless you’re in a Fireteam of friends, though, as it’s a rude move to drag the other Guardians you’re matchmaking with down with you.
Since you can only find the NES006 sample once per account, I can’t tell you exactly where to find the sample in the other two Battlegrounds. However, if you end up in a Battleground that isn’t “Core,” watch the left side of the screen to find the “Proximity sensor” pop-up notification. Use this sensor to find the NES006 on your own.
If you happen to receive “To reach“Battlefield, you can apply Scarrow9′Watch the video above to find NES006.

After returning to Failsafe and receiving the “Specimen number: NES006” quest, you will have a lot of work to do to earn the rewards. Here are the three main steps you need to complete in a specific order:
- Deal the final blows with a sidearm or automatic rifle
- Deal the final blows with Arc or Solar
- Generate power balls
The easiest and fastest way to do this is Shuro Chi raid encounter in Last Wish. Use the Wishing Wall to teleport to Shuro Chi and kill all enemies over and over. Khvostovfresh exotic automatic rifle from Final shape extension, it is great for both the auto rifle step and the Power Ball step (assuming you put Kinetic siphon helmet mod first). For the final blows of Arc and Solar try weapons like Rice cookers Or Ticuu fortune telling.
If you don’t want to pursue Shuro Chi, then completing Lost Sectors on Nessus or other activities in the world will eventually allow you to complete these goals.

Once you finish generating all Power Orbs and return to HELM, you will unlock two Failsafe upgrades:
- Data format cipher: Unlocks additional engrams when opening Echo Chests.
- Bypassing the combat protocol: Detects the presence of high-value targets in Echoes Battlegrounds. Defeat a high-value target to obtain bonus rewards.
Combat Protocol Override activates some previously dormant portals in each fresh Battleground. You can see this update in action in Skarrow9’s video, which is embedded in the previous section of this guide.
