There are now specialized Dr. Doom and Avengers Chests IN Fortnite with specific loot in them as part of Season 4 of Chapter 5, “Absolute Doom.” One of the Kickstart quests encourages you to find them in exchange for XP, but they also have some pretty good loot inside.
These massive loot crates are similar to ones we’ve seen in previous seasons, such as Faction Crates or the IO Supply Crates in Chapter 2. As expected from these harder-to-find gigantic crates, there seems to be more stuff to be found in them than in regular crates.
Below we explain where to find Doctor Doom’s chests and Avengers’ chests Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4.
Where to find Doctor Doom’s chests and Avengers chests
The best way to find these chests quickly is to drop them any points of interest. It doesn’t have to be one of the four novel POIs (Doomstadt, Doom’s Courtyard, Castle Doom, or The Raft), as we could find Avengers chests in Reckless Railways, Sandy Steppes, and Nitrodome.
If you fall into a POI and don’t find a chest, just go to another one and hopefully you’ll find some gold. You can also find chests in non-POI areas. For example, we found a Dr. Doom Chest just south of the Grim Gate, guarded by several NPC enemies.
If you’re just looking for that novel gear (wow, that Captain America shield is a bit broken!), then we recommend going for the older POIs rather than the novel ones that have been added this season. Since players are eager to check out the novel POIs, the older ones tend to be less crowded, so there’s less competition for loot and potential elimination.
We’re not 100% certain if the information below is correct, but based on our testing, Doctor Doom chests spawned more often in novel POIs (Doomstadt, Courtyard of Doom, Castle of Doom, and The Raft), while Avengers chests spawned more often in older POIs.
