How does the Trust work in Arknights: Endfield?

IN Knights: Endfield, Trust is a unique leveling mechanic, separate from the standard one, that applies to all playable characters except the main character, Endminstrator. It serves as the primary mechanism for unlocking information about your characters’ personalities and histories, offering insight into who they are as individuals. If you enjoy learning about the history and information about your characters, increasing your trust level will be a worthwhile endeavor for you.

You want to make sure you’re giving your characters what they’ve got preferred gift to gain as much trust from them as possible. A Preferred Gift differs from a regular gift in that yellow heart present on the icon. Different characters prefer different gifts, so make sure you’re aware of what you’re giving and who you’re giving.

For example, Gilberte is my favorite character and I decided to show my feelings by giving her a Gift.

When I talked to her and offered her a Gift, unfortunately I didn’t have any of the preferred Gifts she would want, so I had to improvise and give her a less favorable option. These Gifts still increased her Trust level, but since none of them were preferred, I didn’t gain as much Trust as I did with the Ideal. It’s still a good idea to give your heroes non-preferred Gifts if you miss your daily limit by resetting it.
