We’re now a 3D printing household, and our favorite beginner printer is $100 off for Cyber Monday

I used to look at 3D printing from afar and think, “That’s pretty cool.” Now that my partner has taken up 3D printing as a hobby, I look at it from a much broader perspective. Her favorite printer The Bambu A1 Mini is $100 off during Black Friday weekend and Cyber Week. This is an effortless recommendation if you are interested in 3D printing.

It all started when I bought my partner another beginner-friendly 3D printer and Ender a few years ago. She wasn’t immediately interested, partly because 3D printers are finicky machines that like it look like they work even though they don’t actually work, but as it turned out later, the machine we decided to buy was also part of the problem.

This year my partner bought the Bambu Lab A1 Mini at another sale and the difference was night and day. Her prints looked cleaner, had fewer errors, and she preferred the included software. She went from struggling to print one piece of her Lethal Company cosplay to spitting out frigid little chip clips, desk toys (for me), and a full model of Dodger Stadium without any drama.

It’s a really great machine, and this offer in particular comes with a large bonus: the AMS Lite attachment. It’s much more than just a holder for more spools of line. The stand allows multiple types of filaments to be fed into the printer at the same time, opening the door to multi-color prints.

However, the A1 Mini doesn’t do everything it wants. The print station itself is quite miniature, so you won’t be able to handle any project larger than, say, a two-liter bottle of Coke. For more printing space, you’ll need to go standard Laboratory bamboo A1 (also on sale for $299) or harder core P1S (on sale for $549), the latter has a closed printing surface so that fluctuations in external temperature do not disturb prints.
