“We had some ridiculous scenes” Fallout: London creators had to get rid of rideable horses and bikes because they wouldn’t stop flying around buildings

Fallout: London is massive, but of course there are still a few things that didn’t make it into the Fallout 4 mod. For example, in addition to the entire cut Wild Card questline coming in a future update, the team took a stab at creating rideable horses and bikes.

Yes, if you haven’t come across Fallout: London’s Sleipnir — the eight-legged post-apocalyptic horses that look as terrifying and goofy as they sound — there were once plans to let you ride one around the capital. Unfortunately, the mutant broncos shared too much DNA with their Elder Scrolls cousins to be worth keeping.

In an interview with VG247, which also touched on the FOLON team’s vision for the future and how they managed to recreate the feel of the British Fallout, project lead Dean “Prilladog” Carter explained what happened when the modders tried to get Grand National up and running.

“I think there’s someone who’s doing something as a mod now with cars that you can drive and stuff like that. But we didn’t design our map for cars that you can drive and it’s definitely not designed for horses that can stick to things,” the modder continued. “We had some ridiculous scenes where people were doing that. It was like a chase or something and the guy was just flying down from above. So that never happened. The horses are there, we call them Sleipnir, but yeah, you can’t ride them.”
