Eclipse Glow Games has shared an extensive look at the upcoming action-adventure game, a spectacular visual feast of boss battles inspired by Arthurian Legend. The game will be released on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, although no date has been set yet.
Players will take on the role of Gwendolyn and in this boss battle, they will face the witch Tyronoe in multiple lands. It’s a double-front battle where you fight in a mirrored, composite realm as both Gwendolyn and the knight Sir Lamorak.
There’s a lot going on throughout, from blurring the gap between worlds, to fighting on the lake and its reflective surface, to a giant fireball that you have to blow up before it’s too delayed.
It is truly unique as a visual presentation built on Unreal Engine 5.
I also think it’s quite a satisfying twist on the usual game development narrative where Western developers look to Asian mythology and history for inspiration. Eclipse Glow Games is a Chinese studio that instead borrowed from British mythos, setting Tides of Annihilation in a devastated and distorted version of London, after the Outworld invasion and moving to the mythical land of Avalon.
