Developer Digital Extremes has revealed some of the quality of life improvements that will be coming Warframe from his Koumei and the Five Fates update. Interestingly, a huge emphasis was put on improving the game for newcomers, something Warframe has seen a lot over the past few months.
This Koumei and the Five Fates update for Warframe will launch in tardy 2024 and will bring with it a up-to-date Warframe for players to master, as well as additional story content to explore. However, in last blog postDigital Extremes showed how this update will make the game more accessible to newcomers. A lot of people who left the game joined the game Destiny 2 following layoffs at Bungie, so this update couldn’t have come at a better time.
Demystifying the Basics
This update is full of quality of life changes that I wish I had experienced when I first started playing. Warframebut it’s good to know they’ll be available to up-to-date players. For example, stats have been carried over from your starting Warframe to make things a bit less overwhelming when you jump into the game as a up-to-date player. A few other things, like opening hack puzzles and the time to intubate your first Kubrow, have been shortened to allow you to get into the game and aid you understand it much quicker.
There will also be a lot more in-game tips. A good example of this is when you want to sell unmastered items. You will soon be greeted with a pop-up telling you that it is better to reach Rank 30 before selling so that your Mastery Rank will benefit the most from your playtime.
New abilities you unlock will now have their input displayed next to the on-screen information when you first unlock them. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve thought it was frigid that I had a up-to-date ability for Warframe that I had no idea how to trigger.
The best fix, however, might be Relic crashes. This is a compact tab that appears when you hover over Relic, displaying the status of your owned and created rewards. Relic is an exploitable mechanic in Warframebut they are necessary to unlock Prime Warframes without spending real money, so they are a necessary evil. They will soon just be a little less evil to operate.
This won’t end Koumei and the Five Fates or. Digital Extremes explained that future updates will address other systems, such as the Star Chart and understanding the order of main and side quests. Once you get into it, WarframeThey aren’t a major problem, but they do pose a barrier to entry that would be challenging to overcome if it weren’t for the incredibly helpful gaming community.
