During TennoCon 2024, developer Digital Extremes revealed the ’90s-inspired single “Party of Yor Lifetime” by fictional zombie boy band On-Lyne. The song will appear in the upcoming major expansion, Warframe: 1999but it can be more than just a catchy melody.
Warframe Fans on game subreddit analyzed some of the song’s lyrics and believe they’ve found more than a few anagrams. While some of these anagrams seem a bit stretched, such as “the neon” including the word Tenno, which is the player character, others are downright unbelievable. User Raveturned noted that “We come alive moving under the neon glow” rearranged becomes “Welcome Tenno, we love our hivemind gang.” Now dozens of us are into it, and many more links have been found.
Clues hidden in texts and walls
The in-game team, On-Lyne, has become a zombified version of Infested itself. Infested acts as a group mind in Warframebut even if this only refers to the On-Lyne, it indicates that the group is acting as a single unit, even though it may be necessary to face them as a whole.
User Dragonmk found another intriguing anagram in the text. “The beats are strong, we feel them in the floor.” “Beware: if we pretend to shoot, Albrecht Entrati loses.” Entrati is the character that players hunt in this expansion, in fact he is the main character in Warframe‘s lore. This anagram carries a lot of weight, but there’s even more going on here that ties in with TennoCon 2024.
In the game space, the main theme of which is Warframe: 1999TennoCon 2024 Relay user OnegenericWhiteBoy spotted something that could be key to the expansion’s story. “I was looking at something similar, but not the song. On the curfew announcement in the central relay, Höllvania has the name Major Neci Rusalka, but it’s written a bit differently and also phonetically, but it has Saryn reversed in the middle.”
So why is this vital? First of all, Major Neci Rusalka is the leader of the enemy faction in Warframe: 1999Scaldra. These guys aren’t Infected, but are some kind of poisonous technological mutation that is apparently trying to stop the Infected on this version of Earth. Secondly, Saryn is the name of a Warframe that was supposedly created specifically to fight the Infected.
While we have no confirmation of what Rusalka and Scaldra are doing, they are very clearly trying to stop the Infested. The Earth is wrapped in biohazard shields as far as the eye can see, and every soldier in the faction wears something similar.
Considering that Saryn is a Waframe designed to fight the Infected using her own poison, which is apparently what Rusalka and Scaldra do, and the fact that Saryn Prime was gifted as a Twitch Drop during TennoCon 2024, fans believe that Rusalka could be the basis for Saryn, which would somehow fit into the expansion’s story.
I think this theory is pretty close to the truth, as this time period shows us six Protoframes, early versions of Warframes. Rusalka could simply be a Protoframe for Saryn so we don’t realize it. Digital Extremes is fantastic at hiding information right from players, without them finding it until they want them to know it, and I can’t wait to look back at these theories when we get to play Warframe: 1999 this winter.
