A seemingly harmless picture of Henry Cavilla showing his leg injury during training for restarting Highlander sent 40,000 fans of Warhammer in madness after speculating social media posts of the former superman actor contains three (!) Separate nod to his upcoming – and Super Secret – Amazon Project.
Henry Cavill’s Warhammer 40,000 Film Universe, the outcome of the contract between game workshops and Amazon for the best video films and television programs based on the famed Grimdark surroundings, is wrapped in mystery. Although it is extremely electrifying for fans, especially data Well -documented love Warhammer 40,000 CavillaWe do not know which character to play, and even what story will tell about the initial project. We do not even know which era Warhammer, in particular, can be expected in the form of live action.
Cavill carefully chose his words whenever he was asked about 40,000 Warhammer in interviews. In June Cavill moved “complexity” and “difficulty” of the Warhammer adaptation 40,000 IP. But he insisted, he loves the challenge.
The revival of Warhammer “is a dream come true,” said Cavill, “but it differs from what I did earlier, in the sense that I had no hand on oil before.”
But could Cavilla indicate what to expect from his Warhammer 40,000 film universe in social media? Some fans think so.
The most obvious irritation here is in the second photo, which shows Horus’s heresy books on the Cavilla table. For the uninitiated Horus heresy is a civil war in space, which took place 10,000 years before the current setting of Warhammer 40,000. He is the basis of Grimdark Universe 40K and reveals how Emperor Carrion landed on the golden throne.
If this photo is indeed a puffing for the adaptation of Horus’s heresy, it would be a significant undertaking for Amazon. The war covering the galaxy was epic on a scale, concerned battles rubbing the planet, huge super soldiers and all kinds of disturbing cosmic magic. Providing Horus’s heresy as a television program, although electrifying, would be an extremely steep proposition if it was made on a scale suggested by Black Library Books. We are talking about the Lord of the Rings: rings of power production value here, perhaps even greater.
But Horus’s heresy is not the only teasing in the Cavilla photo. The murder in the first photo, the one with the uneven face of Cavilla and his dog, and you will see in the background, just above his head, Warhammer 40,000: Lewiathan Box Set on the shelf.
This is the current setting for the Warhammer 40,000, which revolves around the chapter of the US Cosmarines Morines defense of the Empire against the terrifying threat threat. It also happens that this is the assumption of an extremely successful Space Marine 2, which last year started huge sales.
Could this be a entertaining Cavill teasing in your Amazon program? Perhaps it is to adapt the first tyranny war, during which the Empire makes the first contact with the Tyranid race and hell relaxes?
But there is more! Cavill published his photos next to the poem, Invictus of William Ernest Henley. Invictus, are you saying? Well, he is only one of the most famed ultramarines, and the hero in the war with … Tyranids.
Indeed, Saul Invictus (currently he is dead on the official timeline) was the captain of Elite 1st Company of the Ultramarines Space Marine. He was killed, defending his chapter world Macragge by the Tyranids of the Hive fleet during the First Tyranical War.
Let’s move to the last part of the poem:
It doesn’t matter how to charge the gate,
Like accused of scrolling penalties,
I am a master of my fate
I am the captain of my soul.
Should Cavill play Captain Invictus in the adaptation of the First Tyranical War? Some think 40,000 fans of Warhammer, simply because of the poem set in a queue with a leviatan set.
Of course, all Warhammer elements in Cavilla’s pictures can simply be an innocent window dressing and absolutely mean nothing. It is worth noting that one character, which was often mentioned by fans as a great fit for Cavill – Eisenhorn, from the Saga of the Black Library Dan Abnett of the same name – is not bothering here. At least not that we can see. The adaptation of the beloved Eisenhorn Abnetta series would be perhaps a more realistic proposition for Amazon, especially because her main characters (Gregor Eisenhorn and Gideon Ravenor) are human inquisitors, not powerful cosmic marines, and their history is more grounded.
In July, Games said in a financial report that fans should not expect any significant news about Amazon’s work in the near future – and that a few years will pass before something comes out of it.
“On December 10, 2024, we announced applications about our negotiations with Amazon regarding the adaptation of the WARSHOP workshop 40,000 of the Film Universe and TV series, along with related rights to merchandising,” said Games Workshop.
“The project is continued in accordance with our agreement with Amazon. The same agreement prohibits us with providing all detailed information or commercial conditions.
“We have great partners who still show their involvement in the legitimate presentation of Warhammer and on the scope and scaling our fantastic surroundings. This is a long-term partnership with Amazon and in the low period there will be no significant news-these things take several years on the market.”
So we stay with scraps to think, for example Dana Abnett’s last comments on NDA and upcoming books.
In the meantime, Games workshops pointed to the well -received section of Warhammer 40,000 at Secret Level Amazon Prime, which he described as “IP tasttor Warhammer in digital form on a diminutive screen.”
