Good news for those who only have a PS4 or PS5: Vampire survivors finally comes to your favorite – and probably only – platform. Vampire survivors comes to PS4 and PS5 August 29.
What is the best way to describe Vampire survivors for anyone who hasn’t experienced it? It’s a game where you slide around immense maps while stuff falls out of your pockets and, hopefully, lands on hordes of enemies. You don’t actually do anything to empty your pockets. It just happens automatically, so your job is to avoid touching the bad guys while also cramming more stuff into your pants. You can play it one-handed.
If you want a more detailed explanation, I reviewed the game when it came out on Switch and gave it some gentle feedback. Emergency meeting AND Operation Gun extensions.
But while this paradigm-shifting game was available on virtually every other platform outside of Sony’s own, Poncle had been working on a port for some time, but it was held up by Sony’s submission process.
One significant thing to note is that the novel PlayStation trailer notes that the base version Vampire survivors is the same price as a peri-peri wrap. I’m not sure where they get a peri-peri wrap for $4.99. I think that’s a load of crap. It’s been a while since I’ve seen a chicken dispenser offer such a beloved dish for such a low price.
Anyway, Vampire survivors is available on pretty much every platform except PS4 and PS5. It will be released on PS4 and PS5 on August 29.
