Steam has released a modern monitor in a game that will support players understand the reasons for the performance of bad PC playing.
IN Blog postDeveloper Valve explained that the modern performance overlay will show the spelling of values similar to the aged FPS meter, “but it can also break the generated frames from DLSS or FSR vs actual game in the game.” This is a great time, considering that the modern Steam summer sale is live.
“It can show the values of a single min/max frame and frame chart per second in time,” Valve continued. “In addition, it will show information about the processor performance, information about GPU performance and information about the use of system memory. These data elements may be useful to understand the causes of poor game performance, regardless of whether they are a slow processor, GPU, or too high graphic settings that excessively subscribe to your video or system system.”
Here is a screenshot showing all four current options, although attention you can only have one of these display at any time – we compiled them here to facilitate seeing what different settings – FPS Single value, FPS details, details of FPS, FPS details, operate of processor and GPU and FPS, CPU and RAM full details – offer: offer: offer: offer: offer: offer: offer: offer: offer: offer: offer: offer: offer:
To turn on the modern overlay or adjust its size or position, go to settings-> in the game and find a modern performance overlay section.
Valve said that this is a “first step” towards helping Steam users easier understanding their game and system performance, and we can expect additional data to be added to the overlay in the future.
Steam, the most popular digital distributor of PC games, once again broke his own simultaneous user record, violation of 40 million players for the first time in March 2025.
Since then, Steam again broke this record, registering 41 239 880 simultaneous players, breaking his previous record of 40.2 million players established at the weekend earlier.
And although this number includes idle players – that is, players with an open couple, but not necessarily using it – the number of users actively reached a modern record in the game, jumping to 13.2 million players.
Valve recently Rejected reports that his steam platform suffered a “main” data hackingconfirming that there was no violation of steam systems. Given the fertile boost in data violations and the fact that over 89 million of us have a Steam account, users had a reason to worry about a possible security compromise.
