A tactical, competitive first-person shooter from Riot Games Evaluation is now officially available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, the developer announced Friday. Like the existing PC version of the game, Evaluation is free to play on consoles. Console version Evaluation is currently available to players in the United States, Canada, Europe, Japan, and Brazil.
“During the limited beta, we received a lot of valuable feedback from players and we are confident that we can deliver on our promise of a great gameplay experience for console players,” said Arnar Gylfason, Production Director Evaluationin a press release.
The developer says that PC and console players will receive “simultaneous releases of all current updates, new agents, maps, premium content, and additional live service features.”
Riot launched the original version Evaluation in June 2020. It was the company’s second game after the release League of Legends in 2009.
Evaluation draws inspiration from another tactical team shooter, Valve’s game Counterattackbut adds unique Agents, each with their own special skills and superpowers. In 5v5 matches, players choose one of 24 Agents, attempting to attack and defend against the enemy team in a variety of ranked and unranked modes.
Evaluation launched with 11 Agents and four maps, and those numbers have more than doubled in the last four years, with up-to-date content coming in Episodes and Dossiers. Players receive five unlocked Agents upon creation Evaluation account; the rest can be purchased by collecting the in-game currency, Kingdom Credits, which can be earned by playing games and completing quests. Players can also unlock Agents using Valorant Points, a paid premium currency. On Xbox Series X and PC, Game Pass subscribers get access to all current Agents and access to up-to-date ones from day one as they are released.
EvaluationThe console versions are available in a constrained beta starting June 14 for PS5 and Xbox Series X. While the console versions support cross-platform play between Sony and Microsoft platforms, players won’t have to worry about competing with PC players.
