That may be an indictment of the unusually tardy period for major recent releases, but it’s no less impressive that Ghost of Tsushima made it to the top of the list US Sales Charts between May 5 and June 1. Legendary Sucker Punch rose 70 spots from the previous month thanks to its PC release, proving that Sony’s ports strategy is on the right track.
Sales were down three percent year-on-year, mainly due to unfavorable comparisons with The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Realm in 2023. Despite this, PlayStation enjoyed a stable month, with Helldivers 2 still ranking fourth and MLB The Show 24 once again proving to be Sony’s first-choice gloomy horse, coming in fifth.
Stellar Blade dropped from number one to tenth, which shouldn’t come as a surprise, but it’s still a respectable result for a Shift Up release in its second month. Elsewhere, Sea of Thieves continued to stay afloat after its hugely successful PS5 release, while Rise of the Ronin once again proved to be a bit of a gloomy horse, enjoying yet another other month on the charts.
As has been the case for some time now, the PS5 was the best-selling console, both in terms of units and revenue. Below, we’ve included the corresponding rankings for the various software sales categories.
