According to a recent report, Ubisoft stakeholders Tencent and the Guillemot family are considering launching a recent venture and transferring part of the publisher’s IP address.

The word comes from Bloomberg in a paid story that quotes people familiar with the situation.

Apparently, the two entities are considering the possibility of jointly starting a recent venture that will include some of Ubisoft’s existing franchises, relinquishing some control over these assets to Tencent.

As it stands, Tencent owns 9.99 percent of Ubisoft’s shares, while the founding Guillemot family owns 14 percent.

This move would also be an attempt to escalate the value of the beleaguered publisher, which has been dwindling in recent years, among others. due to a number of needy releases.

No final decision has been made and there is no word on what might happen to the intellectual property Ubisoft holds onto if it were to happen.

Ubisoft had an extremely hard 2024 as many projects failed to meet sales expectations, such as Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Star Wars Outlaws and XDefiant, which will be permanently shut down in a few months.

In addition, Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been delayed more than once, which will affect Ubisoft’s finances. Now it is scheduled for March.
