Peter Connelly, a composer and sound designer, best known for his work on the Tomb Raider series, was imprisoned for “unfairly obtaining” a loan from the Great Britain of the Britain during the Covid-19 pandemic.
In a statement from the British service of insolvency, Connelly from Durham, she obtained a justified government loan “reflecting” the government $ 29,500 (22,000 GBP), and then a month later for 50,000 USD (37,500 GBP) at another bank, even if companies were entitled to only one such loan. It was also found that Connelly “intentionally overstated” the financial position of his company during the first few months of Pandemia in 2020, reporting a turnover of 201,500 USD ($ 150.00) in 2019, when it was 77,900 USD ($ 58.00).
In interviews with the service of insolvency, Connelly stated that he had the opportunity to recover the Tomb Raider soundtrack again, describing it as “a significant project that can be very lucrative.” Apparently he took personal loans and sold his car to finance work, but “got stuck” at the beginning of the pandemic. Until August 2021, Connelly, Peter Connelly Limited, took up liquidation.
Yesterday in the court in Durham, July 17, the composer was sentenced to 16 months in prison and disqualified as the company’s director for six years.
“Peter Connelly grossly disregarded the principles of reflecting loans, designed to support small and medium-sized companies during a pandemic,” said David Snasdell, the main investigator in the service of insolvency, the organization responsible for the improper behavior of the reflection loan.
“Connelly not only secured two loans when the companies had only one, but intentionally overstated his company’s turnover to receive more money than he was entitled.”
During the original programmer Tomb Raider Core Design Connelly, he worked in sound design on Tomb Raider III: Adventures of Lara Croft, and later as a leading composer for Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation and Tomb Raider: Chronicles.
