Today’s 007: First Light trailer shows off his modern car

IO Interactive shared a quick look at 007: First Light during the Xbox Partner Preview broadcast today, showing off the game’s car… the Aston Martin Valhalla.

The Valhalla is packed with F1 technology and really fits into the supercar category in a way that probably seems a bit over the top for a spy, even one of Bond’s stature. But first you need to get that number.

Either way, it’s a bit disappointing considering this will be a bigger gameplay reveal.

007: First Light will be released on March 27, 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. This game is available on Xbox Play Anywhere, which means you can buy it once and play it on Xbox and PC through the Microsoft Store.

The game is IOI’s first non-Hitman game in a long time, and as a licensed IP on this scale, it’s a huge deal for the studio. The plot sees James Bond as a relative newcomer to MI6, working as part of a team racing to catch and thwart the plans of 009, who has gone a bit rogue.

We last saw the mission to intercept 009 at a chess tournament, showcasing the game’s advanced stealth gameplay, before engaging in a high-speed car chase and then mortal combat as Bond chased his target into a fleeing cargo plane. Would you believe that a plane doesn’t have a polished takeoff and landing?

We had an early preview of the gameplay reveal at Gamescom and had the opportunity to talk to the franchise’s art director, Rasmus Poulsen. Here’s a little tidbit as we discuss Bond’s visits to the Q Lab and whether he’s more Desmond Llewelyn or Ben Wishaw. “There’s a lot of humor throughout, but it’s important to mention that it’s primarily a relatively dry British joke, otherwise it doesn’t feel like it should. And, you know, you get to get into Q’s lab and understand how this relationship came about in such a surprising way, I would say, so I’m looking forward to it!”

Head here to watch our wider preview of 007: The First Light, including insights into how they decided on the James Bond look, introduced cars, vehicles and high-speed chases along with action elements and, of course, the more open stealth action style inherited from the Hitman series.
