Today, TOTY lineups appeared in EA Sports FC 25 and a quite immense “gameplay refresh” update and nothing else

Today, January 16, a fresh update for EA Sports FC 25 was released along with the reveal of the in-game Team of the Year lineups, and there is no other news from the gaming world.

Voting for this year’s UT Teams of the Year began last week, so we hope you’ve been able to pick the players you think deserve a nod. Either way, it looks like EA has given you a good reason to fire up FC 25 again.

Two completed TOTY XI models – in a men’s version and one in a women’s version, which has become standard – can be found in the graphics included in the tweets below. They do a pretty good job of reviewing each player, so I won’t bother listing every name that was selected – you can find them here if you need them.

These cards will start appearing in the game from January 17 – on that day the attackers will be the first to leave the tunnel, the midfielders on January 19, and the defenders and goalkeepers on January 21. Full TOTY squads will be announced added to the Ultimate Team item pool from January 23-31, with a 12th male and female joining on January 24 to keep the numbers nice and even.

EA also released an update to FC 25 today that is intended to serve as a “gameplay refresh,” with the developer writing that “this is the most significant mid-season gameplay change we’ve ever made based on your feedback.” Then there is no pressure.

• Major updates to core gameplay systems such as passing, shooting, goalkeeping and defense.

• Addressed issues such as defenders catching dribblers too often.

• More offensive, fluid gameplay that allows you to move the ball more easily.
