To celebrate the anniversary of Baldur’s Gate 3’s release, Larian has revealed a up-to-date “Channel from hell“on YouTube. Although the studio hasn’t posted anything yet, they wrote on X, “An App for Everything” that the “community-focused” channel is set to “showcase regular and never-before-seen videos coming this summer.”
It’s demanding to believe it’s already been the one-year anniversary of Baldur’s Gate 3’s release, but exactly one year ago we fired up the character creator, created some really sexy orc or elf, and then toggled the armor display to display Penis D (or some variation on that).
And after all that, the magic hasn’t died down. I’ve logged almost 300 hours and I’m still thinking about my next playthrough. Even as Larian commits to making future RPGs beyond Forgotten Realms, the studio is actively engaging with its fans and still has some updates planned for Baldur’s Gate 3, such as the mod- and villain-focused Patch 7.
Channel From Hell was a prominent play on Baldur’s Gate 3’s pre-launch From Hell Panels, live events where Larian developers showed off the game’s up-to-date Early Access features. You may recall that it was during the last Larian From Hell Panel that we first saw the infamous bear sex scene featuring the hunky Druid Elf Halsin.
I’ve definitely missed Panels From Hell since Baldur’s Gate 3 launched, and Channel From Hell feels like it could really fill that void. It’s also part of Larian’s very direct, embedded social media strategy, as seen on its dynamic TikTok channel. Channel From Hell is currently empty, but we should expect its first uploads before the end of summer.
We also had a bit of our own Baldur’s Gate 3 anniversary: PCG online editor Fraser Brown attended a summit in Barcelona dedicated to Larian’s next project and conducted an in-depth interview with Larian boss Swen Vincke and Baldur’s Gate 3 writer Adam Smith. Among other fascinating tidbits, Fraser discovered that Larian had already created playable prototypes of Baldur’s Gate 4 or a Baldur’s Gate 3 expansion before deciding to go down a different path.
