Tiny Glade players rebuild fantasy worlds in astonishing detail

If I’ve learned anything on this job, it’s not to underestimate the cozy gaming community. Fans of classics such as Animal Crossing: New Horizons AND Minecraft they have built some of the most elaborate and amazing worlds using games as a canvas. Now the players of the independent title Little Glade exploit this charming building game to recreate fantasy worlds from series such as Harry Potter, The Legend of Zelda and more in incredible detail.

Created by Pounce Light, Little Glade is a sandbox game in which players build cities using a combination of building styles that draw inspiration from medieval architecture and cottage aesthetics. There is no combat in the game and it doesn’t require players to manage any resources, so people can build whatever they want. Since its launch on September 23, players have been sharing some of their amazing fairy-tale creations online, like the below recreation of Hogwarts from the world of Harry Potter.

AND full movie on YouTubepublished by Lazrb, details the construction of Hogwarts. Everything has been recreated – from the spectacular castle towers to the courtyards. I love all these flowers Little Glade this allows the builder to truly capture the dilapidated look of the location. You can see them dive in and add decorations like creeping wall vines and overgrown bushes to the ancient walled areas that really capture the feel of the structure. And my favorite part? They added Hagrid’s little hut.

People are also redoing scenes from The Legend of Zelda in Little Glade. These cities are a bit sparser than the example above, but I still love seeing favorites like Green Village AND Lon Lon Ranch With Ocarina of Time.

In-game landscapes are not only suitable for recreating fantasy worlds from video games and books. Polygon friend Becky Chambers uses it Little Glade remake the environments from the board game. She said she liked the game because of its “limited set of tools and the semi-automatic nature of the decorations.”

“It’s visually gorgeous and gives me plenty of crayons to play with, but it doesn’t give me all the crayons and that just makes me have to get even more creative,” Chambers wrote via text. “Plus, I don’t have to be super precise to make something that looks great. It also fits the feel I’m looking for in TTRPGs. I don’t like crunching numbers; I just want to hang out with good friends and let my imagination run wild. Tiny Glade hits that note perfectly.”

And if you’re not into fictional worlds, the players showed that too Little Glade can be an effective tool for reconstruction of historical buildings also. So if you are a person who loves building all kinds of castles, Little one, I’m gladthis may be your thing.
