This Lego James Bond game would be pure gold on the Nintendo Switch

In a world where James Bond there are few games, the concept of a LEGO James Bond the game sounds amazing. TT Games’ knack for combining whimsical joy with great spectacle is evident in its work on the Star Wars franchise, and pairing it with Bond’s early era of cheesy goodness sounds perfect. However, it seems Bond overlords Danjaq and EON decided that watching the sun wasn’t good enough.

If you’re a Bond fan, and I’m sure you are, then we think we can both agree that 2012’s 007: Legends cannot be the last video game appearance of iconic spy Ian Fleming. Before IO Interactive announced its upcoming action game, Project 007, to the world in 2021, it seemed like TT Games was hoping to create a full-fledged Bond adventure game. According to RedditorLEGOGame Museum‘, footage of a proof-of-concept trailer was leaked on their Discord server, with some fans speculating that it could have been DLC for Lego Dimensions.

Over the past few years, TT Games has worked on several Lego games based on legendary franchises, including Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, The Lord of the Rings and Star Wars.

While titles like Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga are undoubtedly among the best Switch games, it’s the kind of unexpected reveal that hurts more than anything else. The colorful Roger Moore-era Bond camp, the bombshell of Pierce Brosnan’s transition to the 2000s, and Ken Adams’ stunning production design for Sean Connery’s films would all be great in a Lego game. Poking fun at Daniel Craig’s excellent but more selfish cadence is sure to get plenty of laughs too.

It’s also a huge missed opportunity, since TT Games’ Lego entries are known to be fun to play in co-op, and this could have finally done the one thing no James Bond game has ever managed: let people play together as different Bond actors .

Games like the classic Nintendo 64 FPS game, Goldeneye, flirted with this idea only an early version of the game existing somewhere in the world with this featurebecause it was removed from the full version due to licensing issues.
