Borderlands 4 developer Gearbox has given fans a seven-day warning: these boss-melting builds based on “unintended interactions” will be nerfed next week.
Borderland 4 rife with overpowering setups that take advantage of what developer Gearbox called “unintended interactions” to cause massive damage to even the game’s toughest bosses on the hardest difficulties. The most renowned of them is the “critical knife”. which Gearbox claims to be aware of. But there are many others.
Gearbox spent the first few weeks of Borderlands 4’s life tweaking performance and beefing up weaker hardware, rather than nerfing things or eliminating those broken builds. But now it’s time for a change.
Borderlands 4 Creative Director Graeme Timmins it hit Twitter say “next week there will be some changes in specific equipment and these unintended interactions, this is your 7 days notice ;)”
Next week’s update will also include “many improvements to stability, performance, and some highly anticipated quality of life changes!” Gearbox added to the official account.
“We’re looking forward to next week and are planning another round of patches that will focus on tuning class mods, repkits, shields, and firmware to provide greater usability for melee builds and address gaps in other specific Vault Hunter builds,” Gearbox said. “We’ll also address unintended interactions in some Vault Hunter skills and make fixes for over-performing hardware. Importantly, next week’s update will include a number of stability, performance and some highly anticipated quality of life improvements!”
Today, October 9, there is a diminutive update focusing on minor gear changes. Patch notes, z on the Borderlands 4 websiteare below.
