We have good news for patient Silent Hill fans who have been waiting to play Silent Hill 2 Remake on Xbox – a modern leaderboard has appeared appeared member of the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB).

While the ESRB has already listed the horror game, it previously only rated the game on PlayStation 5 and PC, giving it a 17+ rating for blood, gore, sexual themes, forceful language, and violence. And now a similar rating has been added to the site specifically for the “Xbox Series” platform.

This is unlikely to come as a surprise to most – we already knew that the horror remake was a one-year PS5 exclusive and expired last month – but it’s good news nonetheless, considering Konami itself has been a bit coy about the release date of the Xbox Series port (and has been completely quiet on the highly anticipated Born From a Wish DLC).

The Silent Hill 2 remake has sold 2.5 million copies worldwidebringing the franchise’s overall sales to 10 million. IGN Silent Hill 2 remake review returned 8/10. We said: “Silent Hill 2 is a great way to visit – or re-visit – one of the scariest places in the history of survival horror.”

The producer of the Silent Hill series, Motoi Okamoto, recently talked about it why Konami revealed three modern Silent Hill games after a full decade of silencesaying that the publisher wanted to emphasize to fans aged and modern that it was “serious” about reviving the failing horror franchise. Of all the projects revealed since the 2022 show – Silent Hill: A brief messageSilent Hill 2 remake, Silent Hill f, Silent Hill:Townfalland media projects Silent Hill: Ascension and upcoming movie, Return to Silent Hill — most were well received by critics, fans and modern players alike, suggesting it was a risk worth taking for the Japanese publisher.
