Winter is coming and with it a brand novel, free content update Console version of Rust. Coming to PS5 and PS5 Pro on November 27, this update completely overhauls the snow biome, adding a terrifying novel monument, a novel vehicle, and a perilous apex predator patrolling the ice. In addition, novel DLC will be available on PlayStation Store on the same day, and throughout December, survivors will be able to island hop for festive events, exclusive skins, and plenty of real Rust mayhem.
Secrets buried in the snow
For a long time, the snowy part of the island was reserved for the bravest survivors, and the merciless cool killed most people before other players even arrived. Now something has changed. A novel monument to the Arctic Base has appeared, a vast research facility set deep in the white by a mysterious crew of scientists that turns this frozen region into a veritable hotspot.
Inside, you’ll fight your way through armed scientists guarding the area, make your way through doors to puzzles, and search room after room for valuable loot. The layout is full of tight corridors, side rooms, and sneaky vantage points that are perfect for setting up ambushes or walking right into one.
Snowmobiles and bear claws
Survive the Arctic Base and you may leave with more than just loot. The snowmobile is rapid, raucous, and perfect for cutting through the snowy biome. There’s only one problem. These machines tend to attract a lot of unwanted attention, and polar bears now roam the frozen parts of the island. They patrol the biome, hit much harder than regular bears, and love catching scattered survivors in the open. For well-equipped players, they are a walking source of information, but for everyone else, they are a stark reminder that snow is no longer just a serene place to hide.
The coldest DLC
In addition to the free update to Rust Console Edition on PlayStation, we are also introducing two winter-themed DLC packs: the Arctic Pack and the Ice King Pack.
The purpose of the Arctic Pack is to survive in the cool, and the Arctic Hazmat Suit replaces a modicum of radiation protection with stern cool resistance, making long snow runs and night ambushes much safer.
The Ice King Pack is for survivors who want the entire server to know who owns the mountain, with frosty equipment and the coldest of thrones.
