Ubisoft has released Star Wars Outlaws 1.4.0 title update, which brings a huge change to one of the most hated aspects of the game. Stealth sections have been improved to remove instant crash conditions, allowing players to get out of a sticky situation rather than returning to a save point.
In addition to removing this condition, enemy AI has also been improved so that players are better alerted if they are detected, allowing them to make the choice of whether to try to retreat and take cover, or simply reach for their blaster and start using it.
Elsewhere, enemy delicate spots have been added to add explosive up-to-date options, Kay’s blaster has been brought back and two-handed weapons can be used more often, and there’s a up-to-date cinematic lens switch that can improve the image for those who hate counterfeit camera effects.
Hoping to attract many more players to the game, Ubisoft put Star Wars Outlaws on sale this week on Black Friday, slashing the game’s digital price by 25%. Of course, stores may have other ideas if they have a few too many drives and want to replace them, so keep an eye out.
Overall, we enjoyed the game (stealth sections and more), and Gamoc commented on our Star Wars Outlaws review: “Star Wars Outlaws is an open-world roguelike that is clearly based on Ubisoft’s familiar format, but it’s not is a bad thing. The representation system is particularly interesting, as the constant fluctuations negate any kind of loyalty you might otherwise show, but most importantly, in this game you can simply be in the persistent Star Wars universe. It’s not perfect, but stealing for crime syndicates, fighting the Empire, speeding through alien landscapes and much more is a dream come true.”
