In hindsight, Ubisoft should have delayed Assassin’s Creed Shadows sooner and pushed Star Wars Outlaws to its November open-world launch. This would give both teams plenty of time to polish their titles and perhaps we would have a less dire situation for the French publisher.
Still, the damage has been done and now comes the recovery mission. After the tender launch, the company stated that it wanted to escalate sales of Star Wars Outlaws during the holiday season, so it released a roadmap for the upcoming fixes. The first update, scheduled for release on October 3, will address a multitude of bugs, and the October 24 update will introduce various quality of life improvements.
Then comes the most critical thing: on November 21, the first major expansion for this game, Wild Card, will be released. It will also add free contracts and introduce major changes to combat and stealth. By the way, this is just before Black Friday, so expect some really huge discounts as Ubisoft will look to boost the title’s disappointing sales.
