The Sims 4’s Create a Date tool adds a lot more realism

Sims 4up-to-date In love the expansion doesn’t make any major changes to the gameplay, but it adds a whole bunch of elements that make it Sims 4 better game — especially for those playing for romance. One of those key features is the game’s improved dating system, which allows for more complexity in relationships. The Create-A-Date menu is how dates are set up in In love: There are many types of dates to choose from – it could be a first date, a romantic date, or a date to repair a relationship.

No matter what you choose, the setup is the same: First, choose who you’re inviting on your date. (You could take your guests on, say, a double date.) Then, choose your activities from a huge list — things like dancing, drinks, stargazing, video games, or more. Then, choose where you’ll go. The activities are essentially the goals of the date, similar to how dating used to work. You’ll be rewarded for accomplishing your goals, but also for strengthening the relationship you’re trying to build.

But the biggest change that will also apply to the base game is that random Sims who are not part of the date will go about their business. During a press conference attended by Polygon ahead of the expansion’s release date, developer Maxis said the dates will be interrupted by strangers A lot less often. Previously, this was probably one of my most frustrating experiences with Sims going out into the world together — or even just staying home. People would ring the doorbell or start talking to the couple, completely ruining any romance that was about to happen.

Sure, if you invite people over for a date, they’ll still interact, but sims who are just hanging out at the bar won’t engage as much. That’s what I mean when I say Sims 4 it seems more realistic with In love expansion — it’s clear that the developers at Maxis are paying attention to the little details that add up. All of these little quality-of-life updates make relationships in The Sims feel more elaborate: As one developer said at a press conference, you won’t be able to high-five yourself into marriage.
