The Sims 4 sends a bat signal to cabin psychopaths with a Halloween expansion that lets you play as the grim reaper

Yo. Do you know anyone who is, let’s say, a little too interested in crime or just likes to create replicas of their entire social group/family, which ultimately ends in uncertain ends? Well, wake them up very carefully, EA has just revealed another expansion pack for The Sims 4, Life and Death, which will allow you to take up the job of the Grim Reaper.

After being teased, this would have been something popular last month announced his plans for the To Be Continuous season, which includes the Reaper’s Rewards event that kicked off on September 24, the publisher has now released the first trailer in which everyone can get a first look at what the DLC – which will arrive on October 31 to coincide with Halloween – has in store for you virtually a version of your former romantic interest to whom you did unspeakable things.

In the reveal trailer, which you can watch below, EA showed off that it’s bringing full-scale funerals to the series for the first time and offers expanded ghost gameplay that looks like it’ll mesh well with the improvements to the overall supernatural gameplay over the past few years.

But that’s not the most significant thing – your warm neighborhood psychos have the opportunity to pursue two up-to-date careers that should suit their long-established penchant for the brazen, disastrous removal of pool steps. One is about being an undertaker and the other is about becoming a grim reaper.

Here’s the description of the latter: “Work with Grim in the Netherworld Death Department (NWDD) and even venture into the ‘field.’ Sims in this profession can undergo reaper training with the all-around good dummy-in-training, Kenny, maintain Grimtern Sims scythes, practice soul harvesting on training dummies, and determine the cause of death of collected souls at higher levels. Sims in this career can even determine which souls they capture and which they bring back to life. Once recovered, souls can be placed in the Afterlife Portal to meet the soul limit. Lovely.

“Depart for the haunted kingdom of Ravenwood,” we read news post on a summary of everything the expansion has to offer, “where three distinct districts are waiting to be explored, each with its own connection to the shadowy passage between life and what’s next. Your Sims will have the chance to create a wish list, solve lingering unfinished business in the afterlife, wield up-to-date spiritual powers to unleash chaos, goodness or something in between, and even experience rebirth.

In addition to attending the aforementioned funerals, the expansion “allows Sims to experience four types of grief: denial, holding together, anger, and sadness” and do things like writing a will, since it’s a video game.

As we mentioned earlier, Life and Death will premiere on October 31st and the gameplay trailer will be released on October 17th.
