The Sims 4 Reaper Reward Event is a limited-time in-game event that helps kick off the game’s newest season of To Be Continued content (September-December 2024). This event, which started on September 24 and is expected to last eight weeks, will be quite closely linked to the release date of the next Halloween expansion, which was recently revealed to be The Sims 4 Life and Death.
The story of Reaper’s Rewards is about a Grim Reaper who needs facilitate remembering a recipe Ragweed: A refined meal that Sims can exploit to bring ghosts back to life. To facilitate him, your Sims can complete a series of tasks – in return, they will receive the titular title Reaper Rewardsincluding time-limited items such as cosmetics, features, decorations and collectibles.

What is the Reaper Bounty Event in The Sims 4?
Reaper Rewards is a limited-time event in The Sims 4, running from September 24 to November 19, 2024. However, unlike the Happy at Home event that took place earlier this summer, Reaper’s Rewards is not just a login eventalthough its content unlocks over a few weeks, similar to Happy At Home.
To participate in the event and unlock all the rewards, players will need to complete a series of tasks, making Reaper’s Rewards a sort of amalgamation of previous time-limited events and scenarios. The event starts automatically when the game loads.
Reaper’s Rewards content, including quests and associated rewards, will be unlocked over the first six Tuesdays of the event. It will then run for an additional three weeks while everything is available, giving players time to complete all tasks and claim all rewards. (All previously unlocked tasks will be available to complete until the event ends on November 19, so there’s no need to worry about starting delayed.)
Rewards in the form of regular in-game items such as books and potions will be delivered to your inventory regardless of which Sim is your busy character when you claim them; but rewards providing fresh build/purchase items and other exclusive event goodies will now be unlocked for all saves.

List of Reaper Reward Quests and Quests in The Sims 4
So far, all tasks for the current week have been unlocked at once, so you can work towards the goals of multiple busy tasks at once. In the coming weeks we will have to check whether all the unlocked tasks will be completed at once, or whether the previous week’s tasks will need to be completed before the next one in the series begins.
You also don’t have to complete the tasks in order, although there are chains of tasks that need to be completed in order. The game doesn’t really explain which quests are required for the larger chains, so we’ve broken down each quest into individual chains and listed them in order below:
Task name | Unlock date and total points | Task chains |
---|---|---|
The Grim Reaper’s assistant | Week 1 โ 175 EP | 1) Ask three Sims about Ambrosia โ Search for Ambrosia on your phone, tablet or computer
2) Order a flower seed starter kit โ Plant a lily, plant a lioness โ Inspect the plant |
Appeal | Week 1 – 225 EP | 1) Read the Ambrosia Society newsletter โ Cook the recipe with a cooking skill of level 3 or higher
2) Buy Grimophone โ Summon the Grim Reaper โ Meet or talk to the Grim Reaper 3) Ask the Spirits about Ambrosia (requires The Sims 4 Paranormal Stuff Pack) |

Once you complete all the first week’s quests and tasks, you’ll earn enough points to unlock the first one eight awards.

Do I need to purchase Sims 4 DLC to complete Reaper’s Reward Quests?
The Reaper’s Bounty event takes place in The Sims 4 base game, so it can be played by all players who have updated the game to the latest patch.
However, some quest objectives require the exploit of items or mechanics introduced in paid DLC, such as the first week’s quest involving the exploit of the sรฉance table from the Paranormal Stuff Pack.
EA has confirmed that players will not be penalized for not owning the DLC used in the event; if you don’t have the add-on needed to complete a task, you simply won’t see that goal on your task list.
Players who own related DLC will be able to claim certain rewards early as they will be able to earn more Event Points for weekly tasks that include DLC objectives. However, it looks like by the end of the event you’ll be able to earn enough XP from the base game quests alone to claim all the rewards – though we can’t confirm this until we see the full Week 6 quest list.
Can I turn off Reaper Rewards?
As of this writing, there doesn’t appear to be a way to opt out of the Reaper’s Rewards event if you don’t want the event hanging in the corner of your screen for the next eight weeks – which, while a pretty chilly event, can be quite annoying if you want to play The Sims in the old-fashioned sandbox way, without the trappings of live services.
Unfortunately, the only really reliable solution to getting rid of the event interface seems to be to complete the event, which obviously isn’t ideal if you’re not interested in it. On the plus side, completing event quests in any save means they are completed throughout the game, so if you really want chibi Grim out of your sight, you can simply create a fresh save and speed up the quests each time , when they appear. jump out. Once you have completed all unlocked tasks for the week, the event interface should disappear from the game screen until the following Tuesday when the next round of tasks unlocks.
Some players have reported that running the game offline caused the event interface to disappear, or that they were lucky enough to have a mod installed that interferes with the ability to load the event. On the other hand, this also causes people who want to participate to have difficulty playing Reaper’s Rewards, which isn’t exactly a foolproof workaround.
How to Fix Blank UI Error in Reaper’s Rewards Event
In addition to the Reaper’s Rewards event reportedly not working well with mods – you can work around this by replaying the event on a fresh save with mods disabled – there has been a known issue where editing a Sim in CAS or reloading a save with a partially completed Reaper’s Reward Quest can cause it to load empty task log.
The simplest solution we found to this problem is to wait a few minutes for the UI to catch up, which was surprisingly effective; or you can complete a task that was on the list so that the full task log appears correctly again.
However, if the problem persists, you can delete the accountDataDB file from the The Sims 4 folder (thanks you/otterlydivine on Reddit for this tip!).
Just make sure you create a backup of the UserSetting.ini file somewhere so that you can put it back in when the accountDataDB file is populated again, otherwise you will lose any time-limited rewards from older events when you clear this file.
