The price of the Final Fantasy I-VI collection drops to an all-time low in early Black Friday sales

Published:

The Final Fantasy I-VI Pixel Remaster Collection just hit its best price ever ahead of the Black Friday sale. It’s currently $40, down from the usual $75, which is a tidy 47% discount and even beats the last Prime Day deal by another five bucks.

Break it down and the value is absurd. Based on How long to beat times, if you go through the entire package, you’ll pay around 30 cents for an hour of classic Final Fantasy.

Final Fantasy I-VI Anniversary Edition Collection

In a market where recent releases can offer double this package for a fraction of the content, this is downright generous. These Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 editions also work perfectly on Switch 2 and PS5, so you’re covered for your hardware.

Perhaps you recently discovered Final Fantasy thanks to the Magic: The Gathering crossover and are curious about where these characters and creatures actually come from.

This is the easiest way to view the full tour. You get the first six games with up-to-date twists like adjustable EXP gain, switchable encounters, and auto-combat, making these versions the most accessible they’ve ever been.

It wasn’t that long ago that the physical edition was one of those almost impossible to find collectibles. Reprints eventually fixed this, and now all six games cost about half the price of a single recent release.

As I mentioned, this is the best price ever for this collection, so you’re getting the best deal possible (backed by trusted price trackers like CamelCamel).

Is it worth waiting for Black Friday?

Probably not. When prices hit all-time lows in the run-up to Black Friday, it’s usually a sign that retailers have already made the most of their sales potential.

This collection doesn’t swing up and down like mainstream hits, and Square Enix doesn’t make a habit of releasing deeper cuts outside of reassurance highlights. The last significant drop was during Prime Day, and this price already beats that.

Plus, there’s no guarantee that physical inventory will last forever. It’s still a niche release aimed at collectors, and once the early Black Friday rush clears out retailers, there’s a risk of FOMO.

Could Black Friday knock off another dollar or two? Theoretically. In practice, retailers operate early Black Friday deals to test demand, and if something is selling well at an all-time low, they don’t bother lowering the price further. So if you’ve been waiting for the right moment to reach for this set, in my opinion this is it.

More early Black Friday deals

Black Friday discounts are already starting to appear, and over the next few days we’ll see a whole host of sales officially begin at stores like Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, and more.

Big recent deals include $50 off Meta Quest 3S at Amazonnow $249 or only $329 for the 256GB version with Batman Arkham Shadow included.

The DualSense Edge controller is also confined to just $159.99 at Amazon today too.
