Claymore Game Studios and Kalypso Media announced that Commandos: Origins is scheduled for release in March 2025. The reason Commandos: Origins has been given a fresh release window is to give the development team more time. The studio works on the opinions of people who played both the demo version of the game and those who took part in the closed beta.
“The Commandos series has always been rooted in tactical precision; offering different approaches to solving versatile missions. The Claymore Game Studios and Kalypso Media teams are fully committed to honoring this legacy. Thanks to the valuable feedback we have gathered from our dedicated community, we are now making the final adjustments necessary to provide our players with the best tactical experience possible” said Jürgen Reusswig, studio director at Claymore Game Studios.
The updates that Claymore Game Studios will be working on are a response to the feedback that Commandos: Origins seemed clunky, so optimization is key. Enemy artificial intelligence will also be examined to make it more responsive to player actions. The voices will also be re-recorded, and the final release will include English, German, French, Spanish and Chinese voices. According to the studio, the voice work in the demo and beta was momentary. There will be three different control schemes available at launch, and custom keybinding will be available on PC. The loot system is also getting a makeover, with some enemies dropping loot and other loot being found in buildings. This loot will then be used by the commando who collected it to the best of their abilities, without having to deal with inventory. Non-lethal combat options will also be available at launch, along with more tips and tricks.
Commandos: Origins will be available on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and will also be available as part of Xbox Game Pass from day one.
