The premiere of Alters has been postponed to the first quarter of 2025

11 Bit Studios has confirmed that production of the survival strategy game The Alters has been postponed to the first quarter of 2025 because the game requires more time to develop. The studio approached the announcement of The Alters’ delay in a slightly groundbreaking way, directly addressing the main character Jan Dolski as his employer Ally Corp. You can read it below.

Dear Mr. Dolski,

We regret to inform you that, after careful review, your upcoming Rapidium exploration mission has been postponed from the first quarter of 2025. While we understand that this delay may not be the news you were expecting, rest assured that we are using this extended time to optimize all mission-critical systems and ensure every aspect of your journey is as seamless as possible.

We would also like to emphasize that the Dolly project, based on the initial demonstration phase, has already exceeded expectations, with initial results showing high potential for a successful mission. But at Ally Corp, “good” is never enough. This additional time will allow us to refine each phase of the project, ensuring results that exceed our previous forecasts – an outcome that will benefit both Ally Corp and, of course, you.

Thank you for your patience and continued commitment to the Ally Corp mission. Your contribution to the Dolly project remains invaluable and we look forward to its successful implementation in the near future.

Project Dolly refers to the assumptions of the history and gameplay of The Alters. You play as John, a space builder stranded on a distant alien planet who just wants to try to survive and find a way home in his strange ring ship filled with habitable shipping containers. To do this, he must create an “Alters” of himself. They are not quite clones, as each of them may have different skills and character traits. It is from this that the elements of psychological horror and the mystery behind it emerge. This is communicated to the player through binary decisions, which raises the fundamental question of “what if?” as you go down deeper and darker paths.
