While we don’t yet have all the details on every change and improvement it adds, we do know that improved water physics are among them. This may sound inconsequential for a survival horror game, but water physics were the hallmark of a good video game back in the day Silent Hill 2 was first released in 2001, so it’s nice to see it finally starting to live up to its contemporary competitors.

Improving the game is one thing, but the group is also doing Konami’s job, allowing anyone with any hardware today to download the original game and enjoy it the way Team Silent intended.
Bloober Syndrome Silent Hill 2 Remake is starting October 8, 2024and is under a lot of pressure to succeed with fans and newcomers alike. After all, the original is considered one of the best survival horror games ever made, so a remake needs to at least match that level of quality and define itself separately from the original’s legacy.
With the release of the remake, Konami will be focusing on getting the game into the hands of as many players as possible, which means they won’t want players’ eyes to fall on the original.
