The Pokémon TCG Pocket roadmap includes trading through January and more booster packs before the end of the year

The developers of Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket have unveiled some of the updates players can expect in the coming months, including additional booster packs, trading, and other modern features.

The team detailed their strategy in post published on his official X/Twitter account. It’s a message that thanks fans for trying out Pokémon TCG Pocket since its launch a few weeks ago, and more importantly, tells players what they can expect if they stay in the game. The update plans include not only modern cards, but even mysterious modern features that have yet to be announced.

Pokémon TCG Pocket will be getting at least one “major update” in the near future, and the team says it plans to release modern power-up packs before the end of the year. Those who have purchased the Pokémon mobile game so far have received three packs – Genetic Apex Mewtwo, Charizard and Pikachu – with three card pools to choose from. It’s unclear how many more packs will be released in the next few months or what creatures will be included in them.

How and when the card roster will expand remains a mystery, but one feature on everyone’s mind is set to arrive early next year: trading. The ability to trade cards with other players is a Social Hub menu option that has been greyed out since launch, and in January Pokémon TCG Pocket will finally make it available for exploit. It’s worth noting that today’s news clarifies that only “certain cards” will be tradable at launch, with the team promising to “expand the selection of tradable cards over time.”

While the news hides more than a few details, you can be sure that more features will be coming to Pokémon TCG Pocket in the future. “In addition, we are working on other new features beyond the trading feature presented here,” the announcement reads. “We plan to announce more details about the update once the dates for these features are finalized, so stay tuned for that.”
